“My doctor gave me a referral to have my imaging done at another facility, but I want to use Family Imaging. Is this a problem?” We often hear comments like this one at Family Imaging. When your doctor orders a diagnostic test, whether it be laboratory or radiology, there could be a medically based reason that he/she has ordered you to go to a specific facility. It could also simply be because that it is the facility your doctor’s practice is affiliated with. Industry Trends One current trends in healthcare management is the practice of hospitals buying physician practices. There are many reasons for this practice, but economics plays a big role.
